Kyle Lafferty laid on the opening goal for Northern Ireland in their 2-0 win over Estonia at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.

Lafferty was restored to the starting line up by Michael O'Neill for this start to the new European Championship 2020 campaign and Lafferty did really well in the 56th minute to take the ball down in a crowded penalty area before laying it off to Niall McGinn who fired home from 12 yards.

It was just the goal Northern Ireland needed to set them on their way to a crucial victory as they try to rediscover the heroics that saw them qualify for the European Championship finals in 2016.

Captain Steven Davis sealed the win from the penalty spot in the 75th minute while Lafferty was replaced by Josh Magennis a minute later.

A good start then for the Kesh man and Glasgow Rangers centre forward with Northern Ireland having another home game on Sunday against Belarus and big Kyle will once again look to lead the front line.

Enniskillen's Michael McGovern was an unused substitute as Bailey Peacock Farrell got the nod for the number one jersey.
