Produce from gardens in Fermanagh and adjoining counties was in abundance this year at Fermanagh County Show as the enlarged section for vegetables sponsored by the Vaughan Trust, attracted many new exhibitors.

The open class for five potatoes attracted 17 entries alone and the class for onions, cabbage, beet and peas were all well supported.

The increased prizemoney also brought an influx of new first-time exhibitors in the Veggie Box class for fresh garden produce of at least five kinds. The £30 first prize went to Joanne Hodgeson on behalf of Florence Court Garden Volunteers and in the juvenile section, the collection of three vegetables went to Poppy Glenn, from Lisbellaw.
