Thousands of spectators joined Erne Vintage Car Club in celebrating their 40th anniversary at the Vintage Car Parade in Enniskillen last Friday evening.
The weather was favourable as hundreds of vintage vehicles travelled through the town, with some dating back to 1912. One vintage enthusiast even brought his vehicle over from Scotland to take part in the parade. This year’s chosen charity was Northern Ireland Air Ambulance and a total of £4,750 was raised for the life-saving service.
The annual event was organised by members of the Erne Vintage Car Club including chairman John Keating, treasurer Stanley Moffatt and secretary Carol Elliott. Caroline McCartney, the wife of one of the club’s founding members, the late Raymond McCartney, flagged off the parade on the evening.
Several founding members were also in attendance including Ivan Kee, Stanley Moffatt, Raymond Moffatt and Ronnie Phair.
