For one night only, a special concert encapsulating the music, singing and storytelling of the Cuilcagh to Cleenish area took place in the magical underground surroundings of the Marble Arch Caves.

Hosted by ‘Cuilcagh to Cleenish a great place’ with support from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund, the ‘Going Underground!’ concert featured a varied line-up of local performers including Cathal McConnell, Shauneen Maguire, The Tumbling Paddies, Simon and Maria O’Dwyer, Mullaghy Flute Band and the Owens Family who showcased their talents in the unique setting. Local historian and writer Seamas McCanny shared heritage inspired tales as audience members were led underground and were initially greeted by faint echoes of music accompanied by the sound of rushing water through the caves, creating a stimulating audio experience from the offset.

Moving through the caves, the audience experienced the performers who were situated at various stations amongst the ancient limestone formations.

Following the underground concert, a second concert was performed overground in the visitor centre.

It was a spectacular night celebrating local music, arts and heritage of the area.
