With a recount officially anounced, it is believed there are only 62 votes separating Sinn Féin's Michelle Gildernew and Ulster Unionist Tom Elliott.
Fermanagh and South Tyrone was always expected to be a tight contest and it proved to be so with nobody from either side willing to make a bold prediction as the votes were being counted.
The 62 votes are in favour of Michelle Gildernew and Sinn Féin members are hopeful that she will be able to hold on to her seat.
All votes will be counted in the recount.
The SDLP and Alliance are thought to have increased their share with both Adam Gannon and Matt Beaumont expected to poll over 3,000 votes each.
Independent Caroline Wheeler is expected to take the least number of votes.
