A police officer pushed an Enniskillen man in a wheelchair into a special court in Omagh on Saturday.
Derek Gault was charged with breaking bail conditions on a previous charge by consuming alcohol. He also faced a fresh charge of disorderly behaviour.
When a prosecution lawyer read out the charge of being disorderly in the Erneside Shopping Centre, Enniskillen, Gault said: “I haven't been in the Wellington Road in years.” The lawyer ignored the interruption. Gault continued to mutter to himself.
A police witness said police were called to the Erneside Shopping Centre on Thursday last. Staff had reported Gault was and annoying staff and members of the public. “He had an open bottle of Bailey's that he was consuming,” the witness said. He was intoxicated.
Judge Barney McElholm agreed to a police request to vary Gault's bail conditions. He prohibited Gault from entering the grounds of McBride's Spar on the Sligo Road, Enniskillen. He also prohibited Gault from entering the grounds of the Erneside Shopping Centre.
Judge McElholm remanded Gault (51) of Sligo Road, Enniskillen, on bail to Enniskillen Magistrates Court on March 9.
