The number of positive test results for Covid-19 have been slowing in the Fermanagh and Omagh District this week but the public have been warned by Health Minister Robin Swann to keep adhering to health guidelines in terms of social distancing and leaving the house only when it is essential to do.
Minister Swann stated: “I am very encouraged by the extent to which people across Northern Ireland are following the guidance. The message for this week is: stick with the fightback against Covid-19. We must never let our guard down if we want to protect ourselves, protect our health service and save lives. Any hints of complacency and impatience must be strongly resisted.”
Latest figures from surrounding district council areas show a continued rise in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 and Fermanagh and Omagh now have the second lowest number of the 11 council areas, with 43 positive results to date.
The figures, released today (Wednesday) and which are released by the Public Health Authority daily between Monday and Friday, show no new confirmed cases in the Fermanagh area for the first time.
Today's figures showed that across Northern Ireland there was a day on day increase of 84 positive cases with five deaths reported to be associated with Covid-19 bringing to the total number of deaths to 78.
