The Bishop of Clogher and Archbishop-Designate of Armagh, Right Reverend John McDowell, will be leading a video broadcast of a Celebration of Holy Communion on Easter Sunday.

The online service which will be available on the Clogher Diocese Facebook page and website from Sunday morning will come from Kiltermon Church, Fivemiletown.

It will also be aired on Northern Sound 96.8 FM and Shannonside 104.1 FM at 9pm on Easter Sunday.

Bishop McDowell will lead the service which will include recordings of several well-known Easter hymns and the prayers and intercessions will be led by Precentor Kyle Hanlon, Rector of Fivemiletown parish which includes Kiltermon. The Bishop will read the Gospel and preach a sermon.

This will be the main service of Holy Communion on Easter Sunday in Clogher Diocese and will culminate a busy week for churches throughout the area.

The Bishop is broadcasting a reflection on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings of Holy Week as well as Good Friday.

More than a dozen parishes throughout the diocese will be hosting their own Holy Week and Easter Sunday broadcasts and these will be posted on their individual Facebook pages and also on the Clogher Diocese Facebook pages and repeated on the Clogher Diocesan website.

Some clergy in charge of parishes have been streaming services live while others have pre-recorded the services and broadcast them at their normal Sunday worship times as well as weekday evenings.

Others have been streaming twice daily broadcasts and some parishes have uploaded prayers to support people during the coronavirus crisis.
