Eight-year-old Hannah Robertson from Fivemiletown has been using her creative skills to share some joy at this time.

After the Fivemiletown Coronavirus Response Group put a call-out to children in their local community to create drawings that could be sent out to those in isolation, Hannah decided to get involved.

“The Fivemiletown Coronavirus Response Group put out meals to the elderly and vulnerable people that are living on their own, every weekend.

“They had approached the two schools, both St. Mary’s and Fivemiletown Primary and they had left a wee box in the local Spar for children, if they wanted to do a wee picture for them to hand out with the meals to people who are in isolation. That’s what inspired Hannah to do it and that’s what she’s done,” explained Hannah’s mum Lorraine Robertson.

“She took so much pride in doing it,” Lorraine added.

As the meals are being distributed throughout Fivemiletown, Hannah decided to draw the main street of the town, featuring the steps at Floral Valley and the clock.

“The meals are being distributed throughout Fivemiletown so she thought it would be nice to draw the street. She drew the picture of the wee clock on the main street because that would be a real feature in the town and the wee rainbow over it due to obviously the circumstances,” shared Lorraine, adding that Hannah then decided to write a poem to go along with her picture.

Sharing some hope amid this worrying time, the last verse of Hannah’s poem reads:

“I hope your days aren’t too lonely.

And please remember this:

These days will soon be over,

And our lives will just be bliss.”

Hannah’s picture and poem will be delivered along with a meal to a person in isolation by the Fivemiletown Coronavirus Response Group.
