Anthony ‘Anto’ Breen, frontman of local band Anto And The Echoes, along with his flatmate Matt Hanna, has recorded a track as part of the NI Unplugged compilation album to raise money for charity.

Titled ‘I’m Not giving up yet’, the track was written by Anto and Matt during the first week of lockdown.

Taking influence from David Bowie they wrote the piece on what it would be like to be just by yourself as this is all happening. Putting a positive spin on that when it’s all over we will see our loved ones again, giving the tagline and title of the track ‘I’m not giving up yet’.

NI Unplugged is a collaboration of Northern Irish bands and solo artists in aid of Help Musicians NI. Created during the UK lockdown, it features acoustic tracks by musicians across multiple genres.

Every penny raised from purchases will be donated to Help Musicians NI. As an independent charity, donations and support for funding is vital, and all funds raised in Northern Ireland remain in Northern Ireland. The pandemic has highlighted just how important they are to the local music community with their mission of supporting local musicians through times of opportunity and crisis.

Featuring over 50 tracks by Northern Irish musicians, the digital compilation album is available to purchase now via Bandcamp.
