The Department of Health have reported there were no Covid-19 related deaths in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hour reporting period.

The total number of deaths remains at 551.

There was one individual who tested positive out of 1,471 people tested. There are now 5,761 positive tests in Northern Ireland out of 111,698 tests.

Fermanagh and Omagh still remains the least affected area with 11 deaths, however the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) reported there were 16 deaths in the district up until June 19.

The number of positive cases has jumped from 86, reported on Wednesday, to 179. There have been three positive cases in the district in the last two weeks.

The latest statistics from the Department of Health are mainly from hospital fatalities where a person has tested positive.

NISRA data shows death toll reached 816 by June 19 and this includes care homes/ in the community/hospice and hospitals.

The new data collection by the department refers to both Health and Social Care (HSC) Trust Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 1) and National Initiative Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 2).

Prior to Thursday, information on laboratory completed tests was only reported for the four HSC Trust laboratories. 

Alongside testing by HSC Trust laboratories there is a programme for testing being carried out at National Testing Centres, mainly for health care and key workers. 

Information on laboratory completed tests for the National Initiative are available from April 28, with the department waiting for additional data to be provided for the period April 4-28.
