As the Lady of the Lake Festival was cancelled this year in Irvinestown due to Covid, Active Allsorts decided to have their own festival.

The kids produced a programme for the week including different events that the festival would have featured such as The Fair day, Treasure Hunt, Bonny Baby, Musical Festival, Sports Day and of course the Truck run.

The children organised all the events themselves, and also included their very own Lady of the Lake or Lad of the Lake each day.

The Fair day was a great hit, the children dressed up and had different stalls to visit which included Fortune Telling, Lucky Dip, Obstacle Course, Bowling and ending the day with some Irish Dancing they made their own money and visited each stall.

The Treasure Hunt consisted of treasures being hidden all around Active’s premises with clues being read out.

This was a very popular and enjoyable event.

There were five baby dolls entered in the Bonny Baby Competition, Pria, Rosie, Lily, Bobby and Michael, the morning was taken up by getting the babies ready for the judging in the afternoon, Rosie was the winner.

The Sports Day included Tennis, Badminton, Hula Hooping, Skipping, Obstacle course and throw the welly, it was great to get outside and burn off some energy along with getting some exercise.

The Rockdown in Lockdown Music Festival consisted of the children making their own instruments.

“There was a lot of talent displayed and great singing; we even got some spectators who were walking past our centre and clapped in appreciation of our efforts.

Finishing off the week just like the festival, Active had a truck run, throughout the week the children were painting, sticking, cutting decorating all their trucks showing lots of imagination to create their truck, we then had a convoy displaying all their hard work,” explained Julie, one of the children.

As Active always took part in the festival events we thought by doing this we would not miss out.
