Who are the members of your band and what instrument do they play? Who is the lead vocalist?

The band is made up of five members including Danyal Adams on lead guitar, Caolan McNulty on rhythm guitar, Sean O’Brien on the drums, Jack Bogue on bass guitar and Emma Bogue on lead vocals. Everyone in the band sings at some point on the set list which makes us more versatile.

What’s the origin of your band’s name?

The band got its name from a photograph Jack and Danyal’s old science teacher took at the Erne Integrated College open day where a grey panel was behind us and it looked like a grey halo and we thought it was a unique but catchy name.

How would you describe your sound?

Our sound is in its own way unique because we are so young we don’t have a definitive sound as of yet but we are happy with our sound. A lot of credit for that goes to Jack’s dad Niall who is a sound man and helps us out with creating a clear sound for the audience to hear.

What genre/genres do you consider your music to be?

We play anything from rock and roll to country for example we have a rock and roll medley that consists of sounds like AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ and ‘Paranoid’ by Black Sabbath, then after that we usually play ‘I Useta Lover’ by The Saw Doctors.

When did the band form?

The band formed originally in 2014 when Jack and Danyal where in first year avoiding playing football and listening to some rock and roll classics and decided to play bands after going through a few different members we found the current line up in October of 2018.

How long have you all known each other? How did you meet? Where are you all from?

We have all know each other for two years as a group. Jack and Danyal met in first year and then Sean joined the band in 2018 then Caolan joined that summer as well then that October Emma joined us on lead vocals and the band was complete we had all the key members.

We all are from different areas. Caolan and Sean live just outside Irvinestown, Emma lives just outside of Lisnaskea and then Jack and Danyal are living in Enniskillen although Danyal is originally from Yorkshire.

What gigs do you have coming up?

We are playing the Ardhowen Theatre’s weekly Friday Night Live! stream on August 14 which we are really looking forward to playing.

What is the band’s favourite song to play and why?

Our favourite song is probably ‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac everyone in the band gets to do some form of a solo in that song and we all just really enjoy playing it.

What has been your biggest gig to date?

Our biggest gig was probably our first dinner dance in Waterford where we filled the dance floor from the beginning of the set and the hotel staff had to turn off the power in the function room for us to stop the party.

Any funny gig/rehearsal stories?

Rehearsals have always been fun but our funniest moment was probably when Jack’s bass strap fell off and the bass hit him on the head.

What does the rest of 2020 hold for the band?

We had a good year ahead but unfortunately we had to cancel all due to coronavirus.

Who are your major influences?

We all have different influences which could be anything from Ray Charles to Alan Jackson.

Do you write your own songs?

We were planning to write songs this year but we haven’t been able to meet up and with being on technology we get too distracted.

What would be your dream gig?

We think our dream gig would be a theatre or something like the Delany Suite in Irvinestown where it’s a massive room and a really big stage for us to play about with.

Best moment as a band so far?

Our best moment is probably the travelling to gigs. It’s when we are together for journeys that could be anything from 10 minutes to five hours and we just all entertain each other.

What is the most unusual venue you have played?

We once played the ‘Darkness into Light’ walk which was the only time we played at a football pitch which was in Lisnaskea.

What is your ‘go-to’ encore song?

Our go-to encore song is either ‘Chelsea Dagger’ or ‘Teenage Dirtbag’.

What’s the best thing about performing?

There are a few things first one being the feeling of adrenaline, you don’t realise how quick two hours can pass. The second would be our connection with each other on the stage and the third and most important is the connection you get with the audience. When you play a song like ‘Zombie’ by the Cranberries and everyone in the room is singing the feeling is incredible and unmatchable by anything else.

Any last words?

We hope everyone stays safe and we hope to be back out playing for you all very soon. To see the live stream go to the Ardhowen Facebook page on Friday, August 14 for a 9pm st
