The daily Department of Health update has recorded 21 new cases of Covid-19 in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area in the last 24 hours.

It brings the total in the district to 360. There have been 77 positive cases out of 2,139 tested individuals in the last week with the majority of those infected aged between 20 and 59.

14 have been aged 14 and under; 32 between 20 and 39; 21 between 40 and 59; nine between the ages of 60 and 79 and one aged 80 and over.

Northern Ireland has seen the largest daily increase in positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic with 934 people testing positive out of 6,038 tests. It now brings the total number of positive cases to 12,886 across the country with 2,623 of those reported in the last seven days.

There was also one further death reported by the department bringing the total to 582.

Fermanagh and Omagh has recorded 11 deaths, according to the Department of Health; however, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) reported there were 17 deaths in the district up until September 25.

The latest statistics from the Department of Health are mainly from hospital fatalities where a person has tested positive.

NISRA data shows the death toll reached 901 people by September 25 and this includes care homes/in the community/hospice and hospitals.

The new data collection by the department refers to both Health and Social Care Trust Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 1) and National Initiative Laboratory completed tests (Pillar 2).

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has had 16 admissions and seven discharges for Covid-19 in the last two weeks.

There are currently nine ICU Covid-19 beds occupied in Northern Ireland, with seven people currently on ventilation due to the virus. There are 75 beds occupied with Covid-19 patients.

There are 28 confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in cares homes across Northern Ireland, with 11 suspected outbreaks.
