THIS Christmas, hotelier and performer Joe Mahon is helping to give a little back to Fermanagh animal rescue charities with the release of a new CD.

Christmas and the New Year can often be a difficult time for animal sanctuaries, as new pets given as presents can become unwanted and are abandoned. This can put local charities under even more pressure to feed and look after these animals.

With 2020 putting an extra strain on these charities due to a lack of fundraising opportunities, Joe is stepping in to lend a hand with his musical talents. His new Big Hits CD is jam-packed with all the classic hits of fundraisers gone by, along with favourites from his lockdown performances for the ‘Joe Show’.

Proceeds of the CD will go to two local animal rescue charities – Bright Eyes, and Husky Salvation.

Bright Eyes Animal Sanctuary is based outside Ballinamallard, and was founded by Pat Nolan, a man committed to ensuring that rescued animals were given a voice. Bright Eyes rescues abandoned, neglected and abused animals across Northern Ireland, and last year alone it rehomed nearly 450 animals.

Husky Salvation is a small non-profit charity based outside Irvinestown, which aims to help huskies and other dog breeds.

Both charities are dedicated to giving the animals they rescue vet care, a warm place to sleep, food and a new home. They both rely on the kindness of the public, and without donations would cease to exist.

So, this year, why not buy a little something to help defenceless animals and have some fun rocking around the Christmas tree to the Big Hits CD by Joe Mahon? The CD is available in Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown and online. Call Mahon’s Hotel at 0286 862 1656, or order with Sharpe Music at sharpemusic.com or via 0288 776 1045.
