There was one further death in Fermanagh and Omagh in the past 24 hours as cases continue to rise in the district. 130 new cases have been recorded by the Department of Health in Thursday update bringing the total to 3,668 in the Fermanagh and Omagh District.

Across Northern Ireland, total positive cases rose to 72,834  following a further 1,929  positive cases reported by the Department. 8,228 people have tested positive for the virus in the last seven days.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district shows from December 21-27, BT92 has 72 positive cases, BT74 has 63, BT94 has 55 and BT93 has 40.

Fermanagh and Omagh currently has a seven day per 100k. However, there have still been 599 positive cases in the last week compared to 359 from December 17-23.

87 were aged 19 and under; 234 between 20 and 39; 185 between 40 and 59; 73 between 60 and 79 and 20 aged 80 and over.

There were 11 further deaths recorded in Northern Ireland bringing the total to 1,322. One of those was in the Fermanagh and Omagh area where the death toll is now at 48.

South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) is operating over its capacity by 12.5 percent. Alongside other hospitals in Northern Ireland including; Antrim Area Hospital, The Mater Hospital, The Royal Victoria Hospital and the Ulster Hospital.

There are currently 83 Covid-19 in-patients in the Western Trust, with 27 of those at the SWAH. There have been 43 admissions and 34 discharges in the past seven days.

Across the Trusts, there are currently 495 Covid in-patients. The number of ICU Covid-occupied beds stands at 34, with one of those at the SWAH. 27 Covid patients are currently on ventilators.

Confirmed care home outbreaks are currently at 96 with 11 outbreaks across 96 homes in the Western Trust.
