The number of positive cases of coronavirus in the Fermanagh and Omagh area has risen by 61 in the last 24 hours according to the Department of Health's daily update bringing the total number of cases in the council area to 4,746.

The rise comes as across Northern Ireland, 16 further Covid related deaths were reported and 973 people tested positive for the virus. There have now been 1,533 deaths and 92,782 positive cases recorded. 

There were no deaths recorded in Fermanagh and Omagh, where the total death toll remains at 58.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district from January 4-10, 2021 shows BT92 had 90 positive cases, BT74 had 86, BT94 had 58 positive cases and BT93 has 55 positive cases.

Fermanagh and Omagh currently has a seven day per 100k rate of 393.7 compared to 531.5 for the seven days previous from December 31 - January  . The number of positive cases in the district in the past seven days is 460  compared to 621  from December 31 - January 6.

Breaking down cases by age there were 42 cases in people aged 19 and under; 161  between 20 and 39; 130  between 40 and 59; 80 between 60 and 79 and 47 aged 80 and over.

There are currently 117 Covid-19 in-patients in the Western Trust, with 44 of those at the SWAH. There have been 70 admissions and 58 discharges in the past seven days.

Across the Trusts, there are currently 850 Covid in-patients. The number of ICU Covid-occupied beds stands at 58 with two of those at the SWAH. 44 Covid patients are currently on ventilators.

Bed capacity across Northern Ireland’s hospitals is at 96 percent with the South West Acute Hospital operating at 97 percent.

Confirmed care home outbreaks are currently 142  at with 28 outbreaks across homes in the Western Trust. The Western Trust has the largest proportion of care homes with an outbreak in that region with 39 per cent.
