A GOOD entry of quality sheep met a superb trade last Wednesday at the Ulster Farmers Mart weekly sale, with a full gallery of eager buyers.

Fat lambs peaked at £134 for 27 kgs; Fat ewes sold to £186. Store lambs sold to £104 for 17kgs (612 ppk); Omagh producer 27kg @ £134 (496ppk); Enniskillen producer 26.5kg @ £133 (502 ppk); Magheraveely producer 25kg @ £132.50 (530ppk); Lisbellaw producer 26kg @ £ 132.50 (510ppk); Fivemiletown producer 25kg @ £131.50 (526ppk); Omagh producer 25kg @ £130 (520ppk); Enniskillen producer 19kg @ £107 (565ppk); and Derrylin producer 17kg @ £104 (612ppk).

In line with strict Covid-19 regulations, sellers could leave their sheep into the mart at 8.30am, remaining in their vehicles while mart staff dealt with the numbering and paperwork for their animals. The sale started sharp at 10.30am.

With limited pre-registered buyer slots available around the ringside, purchasers could also bid online at marteye. The mart phoned their customers with selling prices as soon as they were sold through the ring, keeping minimal people on site at any given time.
