A 22-YEAR-OLD woman appeared in court following the stabbing of a woman in Maguiresbridge last Sunday.

Caoimhe Walsh, with an address of Clonmore Gardens, Omagh, appeared via videolink from Omagh Police Station to face charges of grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a kitchen knife.

Walsh only spoke to confirm she understood the charges against her.

A police officer under oath said they could connect the accused to the charges.

Walsh’s solicitor did not apply for bail for his client, saying it was a “very live investigation”, and a number of other people had yet to be spoken to. A bail application is expected to be made next week.

It was also mentioned in court that the injured party is currently in intensive care in hospital.

District Judge Liam McNally remanded Walsh in custody to appear again at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, January 18.
