RESIDENTIAL, dementia and nursing care provider Runwood Homes, the owner of a number of care homes across Northern Ireland – including Meadow View Senior Living in Enniskillen – is rebranding, The Impartial Reporter understands.

The company is allegedly set to change its name to Kathryn Homes in February.

The Impartial Reporter contacted Runwood Homes this week, asking the following questions: What is the purpose of the rebranding of Runwood Homes? What will the rebranding of the company involve? Will there be a change of personnel?

When the rebranding takes place, will there be changes to the day-to-day running of Runwood Homes-owned care homes, including Meadow View Care Home in Enniskillen? If so, what will these changes be?

Have the residents and families of residents at Runwood Homes-owned care homes across Northern Ireland been informed of the rebranding?

‘Any announcement’

In response, a spokeswoman for Runwood Homes said: “Our residents and their families remain our priority. Any announcement in relation to a rebrand will be shared with them in the first instance.”

Runwood Homes previously owned Ashbrooke Care Home on the Tempo Road, Enniskillen, which closed in August, 2017, following an urgent unannounced inspection conducted by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).

At the time, inspectors said it posed a “serious risk to the life, health and wellbeing” of those in its care.

Runwood subsequently entered into an appeal, but withdrew from that process in April, 2018. This withdrawal concluded the appeals process, and any future care home at the Ashbrooke site would have to enter a new registration and application process through RQIA.

In early 2019, Runwood opened a new care facility under the name of Meadow View Senior Living on the site of the former Ashbrooke Care Home.
