Today’s daily update from the Department of Health showed 24 people tested positive for the virus in Fermanagh and Omagh; however, there were no deaths recorded in the local Council area. The total number of cases sits at 5,231, while deaths remain at 73.

Breaking down Fermanagh by postal district from January 18-24 shows that BT92 had 35 positive cases, BT74 had 36, BT94 had 17 and BT93 had 18 positive cases.

Looking at the positive cases from the last week by age, there were 33 cases in people aged 19 and under; 60 in those aged between 20 and 39; 64 between 40 and 59; 23 between 60 and 79, and 12 aged 80 and over.

Across Northern Ireland, 527 people tested positive while 16 deaths were recorded. The number of individuals who tested positive over the last seven days stands at 4,246, compared to 12,144 in the January 6 report.

The respective totals are now at 101,818 positive cases and 1,779 deaths; 12 of the deaths occurred in the past 24 hours, with four being reported outside the current reporting period.

There are currently 768 inpatients with coronavirus across Northern Ireland with 81 inpatients in the Western Trust. 33 of these patients are in the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH). There have been 39 admissions into the Western Trust and 61 discharges. There are currently 67 people in ICU with COVID-19 across Northern Ireland with one of those patients in the SWAH. There are currently 57 patients ventilated.

Compared to recent week’s the pressure on the Health service is easing with 92 percent of beds occupied across Northern Ireland. The SWAH is currently 91.77 percent occupied.
