Thursday's Covid update from the Department of Health continued in the positive direction as previous updates, especially in Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area where only two positive cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

As well as the low case numbers it was another day with no Covid-19 related deaths in the Council area.

Across Northern Ireland, 253 people tested positive for the virus bringing the total number of positive cases to 108,028. There were nine deaths recorded with the death toll now at 1,966. Fermanagh and Omagh Council area has registered 80 deaths.

The Fermanagh and Omagh Council area once again has the lowest rate of cases per 100k of population at 60.8, while positive cases over the last seven days have dropped to 71 compared to 135 from January 28 - February 3.

Breaking down the 71 positive cases in the last week by age - 10 were aged 19 and under; 19 between 20 and 39; 26 between 40 and 59; 14 aged between 60 and 79 and 2 aged 80 and over.

BT94 and BT92 postcodes in Fermanagh also have some of the lowest rates of positive cases in Northern Ireland at 24.7 and 26.5 between February 1-7. BT92 has a rate of 92.3 while BT74's rate is 45.2.

There are currently 62 Covid inpatients in the Western Trust with 27 in SWAH. Across all hospitals in Northern Ireland there are 518 Covid inpatients.

SWAH currently has one ICU Covid occupied bed. Across Northern Ireland there are 58 Covid ICU patients with 53 of them on ventilators.

In care homes, there are 80 active outbreaks as of February 11, a fall of 19 compared with the previous seven days while there have been 20 outbreaks in the Western Trust.
