WELL-known Irvinestown DJ Rockstar Conor McCann is hoping to raise £5,000 for the South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) this weekend.

The popular DJ has been raising funds throughout the Covid-19 pandemic with live DJ sets, and he is hoping businesses in Fermanagh can help him reach his target.

On Sunday, February 21, during his Country music show at 3pm, Conor will be doing an online auction in aid of the the local hospital.

"This is a big fundraiser week for the SWAH, and one of the last two fundraisers the Rockstar is doing as, hopefully, we are getting closer to the end of the lockdown," explained Conor.

"We are aiming to raise at least £5,000, and more if we can, and I am looking for some help from friends to achieve this goal.

"This amazing target which will help the staff in the hospital can be reached with a little help from the communities in Fermanagh and surrounding counties."

Conor is looking for at least 10 friends that will run a hospital fund bonus ball, and the winner picks up money or a voucher for the chosen business, while the rest of the funds go towards the SWAH.

With a number of businesses already pledging their support, Conor is calling on other businesses from all across the county to get involved.

"I’m looking at least for 10 of my friends, and I already have two that will run a hospital fund bonus ball for me.

"It would be fantastic to make this a county-wide fund, so if I had one person or business from each big town in Fermanagh, this would be fantastic."

During the first lockdown, Conor raised more than £20,000 for local charities and organisations in Fermanagh and across Northern Ireland, and now he is hoping for one last big event to "give a little back to those who give a lot on a daily basis to help us".

"This is the final piece of the fund that will give a little back to the amazing people that have gone above and beyond their daily duties in fighting this awful pandemic," Conor added.
