PSNI District Support Team Officers seized a car 30 minutes after it was purchased due to the driver failing to get insurance for the vehicle before picking it up.

Police in Fermanagh and Omagh are advising those planning to buy a new car to ensure they have insurance before they drive the vehicle.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Buying a car? Make sure you’ve insurance on it before picking it up. This motorist owned the car for 30 minutes before District Support Team Officers had it seized and on the back of a lorry.

"A bargain car soon turned into a £205 fine and six points."
