An investigation into a slurry dumping incident near Fivemiletown is being investigated. A spokeswoman for the Deparment of Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) said: "On February 15 2021, NIEA received an anonymous call, via the Incident Hotline, reporting slurry dumping near the Colebrook river in the Fivemiletown area. An officer was tasked to investigate and found that slurry had been dumped on land approximately 6km away from Cooneen. This material had been dumped over 30m away from any waterway and no evidence of water pollution was observed. The investigation into this incident is still on-going."
The spokeswoman added: "If anyone wishes to report incidents of water pollution they can do so by phoning the Incident Hotline on 0800 80 70 60 or in less urgent situations by emailing emergency-pollution@daera-ni.gov.uk."
