AN ENNISKILLEN man has been fined for failing to comply with coronavirus restrictions.

On January 16, police were called to the home of Patrick McLaughlin (33), of Beech Hill, Enniskillen, at around 10.30pm following reports of a noisy party at the house.

When police arrived there were seven people in the property, some of whom had travelled from Fivemiletown and Lisbellaw.

Fines were handed out, and when defendant was informed he replied: “What the f***?”

McLaughlin made no reply to the charge when in custody. He had received a number of previous warnings, and had been repeatedly reported to police.

McLaughlin’s solicitor, Garry Smyth, admitted that background engagement did not do his client any favours, but pointed out there were four people in the house who were authorised to be there.

Mr. Smyth asked the court to take into account McLaughlin’s early plea and his co-operation with police.

The 33-year-old was given a £400 fine by District Judge Steven Keown.
