A COUNTY Fermanagh caravan park has picked up two awards in the 2021 Practical Caravan Magazine Awards.

Rushin House Caravan Park, in Belcoo, picked up ‘Best Small Site in the UK’ and ‘Best Site in Northern Ireland’.

Starting out in 2007 as part of a farm diversification project, the site has grown to be one of the most picturesque caravan sites in the UK.

Starting out with 24 touring pitches, the caravan park now has 38 touring pitches and 20 mobile homes on site which aim to give guests the best caravanning experience by providing quality facilities in a family-friendly environment in a NITB five-star park.

“The accolade of ‘Best Small Site in the UK’ is a fantastic achievement for a small rural caravan park, and we are delighted to receive this honour,” said Cathal and Brenda O’Dolan, who run the caravan park.

Local attractions on the caravan park’s doorstop include Marble Arch Caves and Geopark, Cuilcagh Mountain Boardwalk , Florencecourt House, Cavan Burren Park, Enniskillen Castle and Museum, and Neven Maguire’s MacNean Bistro.

Rushin House, set only two hours from both Belfast and Dublin, is an ideal base for exploring Fermanagh, Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal and West Cavan.

The caravan park has also been voted Practical Caravan’s ‘Best Site in Northern Ireland’ for nine out of the past 12 years, and was the first caravan park in Ireland or the UK to be awarded the EU Flower – also known as the EU Ecolabel, a voluntary scheme established in 1992 by the European Commission – for its environmental standards.
