The daily Covid update from the Department of Health shows that there were six new cases of Coronavirus in the Fermanagh and Omagh district in the past 24 hours.

There were 79 new cases of the virus in Northern Ireland and no new deaths recorded bringing the total number of infections to 119, 111 and the total number of deaths to 2,135.

In South West Acute Hospital (SWAH), according to the daily update, there are nine Covid-19 inpatients. This is a slight increase as there were seven Covid-19 inpatients in SWAH on Friday. There is currently one Covid-19 patient in ICU at the hospital.

But while bed occupancy at the hospital is remains high, Covid rates within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area continue to be some of the lowest in Northern Ireland.

The seven-day rate per 100,000 people in the district stands at 25.7  compared to 27.4  from April 5-11.

Positive cases in the last week were 30. Out of those, ten were aged 19 and under; seven were between the ages of 20 and 39; ten were between 40 and 59; two were aged between 60 and 79 and one was aged over 80.

From April 5-11 postal districts in Fermanagh recorded six new cases. The BT93 area recorded zero new cases; BT74 three; BT94 one, and BT92 two.

As of April 16, there were two confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in care homes across NI. A decrease in three outbreaks from April 12. All outbreaks are currently asymptomatic.
