ST. KEVIN’S College has raised more than £1,300 for Friends of the Cancer Centre, following a recent fundraising challenge.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “We were delighted to present the cheque of funds raised by our recent Hula Bula Challenge, for the sum of £1,365.33, which was raised through our Just Giving page.

“Geraldine [Corrigan] from the Friends of Cancer Centre accepted the cheque on their behalf. Geraldine, a former student of the school, was delighted to come back to her secondary school in order to accept the cheque.”

The money was raised throughout the community when different members of staff took part in a hula hoop challenge.

St. Kevin’s staff member Claire Maguire said that the challenge was a “great bit of craic over the lockdown”, and the momentum was kept going by more and more staff taking part.

The school wishes to thank everyone who donated to this very worthy cause.
