Police in Fermanagh are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Enniskillen.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of an assault in the Belmore Street area of Enniskillen in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Police received a report at around 12:15 am that some time around 12:05 am, a 19-year-old man had been assaulted by a man in the Belmore Street area.

The teenager suffered injuries to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody at this stage.

Investigations are continuing, and anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have any information that could assist police with their enquiries, is asked to call 101, quoting reference number CW 37 of 28/06/21.
