THIS July bank holiday weekend, escape to nature with Aurora Yoga Studio NI’s ‘Wild River Yoga and Nature Retreat’ at Cladagh Glen, Florencecourt.

The one-day retreat, which will take place on Saturday, July 10, will allow participants to reconnect with the natural world.

Running from 10am to 5pm, the retreat will include a mix of yoga, meditation, led nature walks, local folklore, optional cold water swimming, and delicious food prepared by a local chef who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Led by five local women with a passion for the great outdoors, they have combined their expertise to bring a varied programme set in the beautiful surroundings of the Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark, at the Cladagh Glen.

Yoga and meditation will be led by Belcoo woman, Shauna McMorrow, who established Aurora Yoga Studio NI in 2018.

Participants

She is joined by her sister Clare McMorrow, a marine biologist, who will introduce participants to the many wonderful flora and fauna of the glen.

Amy Burns is a zoologist with specialisms in species conservation, but on the day she will enthral with stories of local folklore, while Stacey McGoldrick and Collette McMorrow will be in the kitchen cooking up a storm to ensure everyone is well fed.

“Following the past 15 months, now more than ever we have come to appreciate the healing and restorative power of nature, as many of us turned to the great outdoors during lockdown and restrictions,” said Shauna.

“I believe our nature retreats are the perfect balance of exercise and exposure to the wonderful natural world that we are a part of, and we would love for you to join us in the stunning Cladagh Glen.”
