THERE are currently no mobile Covid-19 vaccination clinics based in Fermanagh as the area has not been classed as a place of low vaccine uptake, a spokesman for the Western Health and Social Care Trust has confirmed.

A list of mobile vaccination clinics for the Western Trust area was published earlier this week, with areas of Tyrone and Derry-Londonderry covered.

The Impartial Reporter asked the Western Trust why there were no mobile vaccination clinics in the Fermanagh area.

In response, a spokesman for the Trust explained that the Trust is working closely with the Public Health Agency (PHA) and multi-agency partners to run mobile clinics "in areas where vaccine uptake is low".

He continued: "The locations of these clinics have been identified through analysis of regional data on vaccine uptake and prevalence of Covid outbreaks.

"In relation to the Southern sector of the Trust, we have been working closely with colleagues in Fermanagh and Omagh District Council regarding the targeting of our clinics and, to date, we have held clinics in Carrickmore and Dromore.

"We are planning a clinic in Omagh town and will likely return again to Dromore," said the Trust spokesman, adding: "We continue to keep this data under review, and will arrange additional mobile clinics as necessary."

He highlighted that all the mobile clinics are open to anyone who wants to receive a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Additionally, community pharmacies continue to offer the AstraZeneca vaccine for those over 40, and a number of community pharmacies now offer the Moderna vaccine for all adults aged over 18.

There are two pharmacies in the Enniskillen area, and two in the Lisnaskea area, that now offer Moderna.
