The Libraries NI Area Manager has stated how grateful he is to everyone who has reached out to support Enniskillen Library staff following a burglary at the premises last Saturday morning, November 13, where extensive damage was caused to library equipment.

Enniskillen Library is currently closed while the building is assessed and damage is restored. It is hoped that if all goes to plan, the library will be open again by the end of this week.

Stephen Bleakley, Libraries NI Area Manager, said: “Enniskillen Library is an important community resource used by people from different age groups and backgrounds in the town, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who has reached out already to support and encourage staff.

“After the incident at the weekend we are currently assessing the building, but it is clear that extensive damage was caused to the library equipment, which has a considerable impact on our ability to deliver services.

“We would like to get the library open again as soon as possible; however, when we do reopen, the library may be operating a reduced service. We would like to thank our customers for their understanding during this temporary closure, and will keep everyone updated through our website and social media channels.”
