A man who stole a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka has been given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay restitution for the value of the drink stolen.
Michael Ward (21), with an address of Main Street, Lisnaskea, was convicted of theft at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday in relation to the incident on March 2, 2018.
Police received a report of theft from the Euro Spar, Main Street in the town.
It was reported two males entered the shop at around 6am and took the Smirnoff Vodka, valued at £11.99.
Ward was identified when police viewed CCTV footage from the shop.
Michael Boyd, Ward’s barrister, said the matter speaks for itself and asked the court that, due to a lack of criminal record for his client, that the matter be dealt with by way of a conditional discharge.
District Judge Steven Keown listened to this request and handed a 12-month conditional discharge to Ward, and ordered him to repay the £11.99 for the vodka.
