Firefighters have been tackling small but deliberately-set fires in Enniskillen, with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) tasked to deal with two fires in the Sligo Road area of the town.
The first fire, last Sunday evening, took place at the rear of Coolcullen Meadows, with eyewitnesses noting a NIFRS appliance parked at the Sligo Road, near the entry to Coolcullen Meadows, and trails of smoke as firefighters extinguished flames.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: "One fire appliance from Enniskillen Fire Station attended the incident. Firefighters were called to rubbish on fire. They used one jet to extinguish the fire. The incident was dealt with by 7.45pm and the cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition."
A second incident took place in the same area of Enniskillen on Tuesday night, with the NIFRS called to the scene at Coolcullen Meadows at 8.12pm.
A NIFRS spokesperson said: "One fire appliance from Enniskillen attended the incident. Firefighters were called to reports of a tyre on fire on Tuesday evening. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. The incident was dealt with by 8.40pm and the cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate."
