A twenty-six-year-old man has been returned for trial on charges relating to the alleged possession of indecent images of children, several of which are in the highest category of seriousness.

Appearing by video-link for a committal hearing was Reece Kennedy, whose current address was given as Gillespie, Edinburgh.

He is accused of 10 counts of possessing indecent images of children, including three each of Category A (the most serious) and Category B as well as four in Category C.

There are also single counts each of possessing an extreme pornographic image and a prohibited image of a child.

The offending allegedly dates back to January, 2015.

No details surrounding the circumstances of the case were disclosed.

A lawyer appearing on behalf of the prosecution told Enniskillen Magistrates Court there is a case to answer, which was supported by District Judge Steven Keown.

Kennedy spoke only to confirm his identity and confirmed he understood the charges.

He did not object to the proceedings and declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage.

Judge Keown remanded him on £500 bail to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court on February 22.
