Fermanagh residents should be aware of strong winds as two storms are due to hit Northern Ireland later this week.

The Met Office issued two weather warnings as Storm Dudley is expected to strike from Wednesday into Thursday, closely followed by Storm Eunice on Friday.

The yellow weather warning for Storm Dudley is in place from Wednesday, February 16 at 3pm to Thursday, February 17 at 6pm.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Storm Dudley will bring a period of very strong winds that could cause some disruption later Wednesday and during Thursday."

The second yellow weather warning is in place from 12am to 9pm on Friday, February 18 as Storm Eunice is likely to strike Northern Ireland.

Outlining what is to be expected from Storm Eunice, the Met Office spokesperson said: "Storm Eunice is likely to affect the UK on Friday, bringing a period of very strong winds that could cause significant disruption.

"There is a small chance that flying debris will result in a danger to life, with fallen trees, damage to buildings and homes, roofs blown off and power lines brought down.

"Where damaging winds occur, there is a chance that long interruptions to power supplies and other services may occur.

"There is a small chance that roads, bridges and railway lines could close, with long delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights."
