Members of Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Fermanagh fundraising group recently invited their local community to join them in making a donation to the charity, in celebration of the life of Neville Gamble, who passed away on November 8, 2019.

Over £3,500 was raised which will go towards helping make a difference to many local families impacted by cancer. Neville’s parents, Jim and Doreen Gamble, would like to thank everyone who made a donation and showed their support.

Describing Neville as a wonderful and much loved son, his father, Jim Gamble said: “I would like to thank the local community for their support since Neville’s passing. My wife, Doreen, and I are incredibly grateful for the kindness that has been shown to us over the last few years.

“It warms our hearts to know that so many people thought so much of our dear son. Doreen and I are thankful to everyone who made a donation. It is a wonderful tribute to a much loved and much missed son, and will go on to help so many other families.”

Colleen Shaw, Chief Executive of Friends of the Cancer Centre said: “Jim Gamble and his family have been raising funds and awareness of Friends of the Cancer Centre for over 40 years.

“Their spirit in thinking of other families, even in the most difficult of times, is what saw Jim awarded the Point of Light award in 2016 by the then Prime Minister, David Cameron and a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Years Honours in 2017. Jim has been instrumental in helping raise over £775,000 and helping grow the local group of supporters, to ensure that families across County Fermanagh and throughout Northern Ireland can access the care and support they need.”
