A new PSNI District Commander has been appointed for the Fermanagh and Omagh District.
The PSNI has made a number of new appointments following a recent promotion process, resulting in the new District Commander's appointment.
Superintendent Mervyn Seffen takes on the role from today (March 7), having been a Chief Inspector in neighbouring district, Mid Ulster, for five years.
Speaking about his appointment, Superintendent Seffen said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity and privilege to lead the policing in the district.
"I am joining a good, well established team and I look forward to continuing to work with our partners and communities to keep people safe.
“I would like to thank T/Supt. Robert McGowan for his work in leading the district for the past number of months.
"I look forward to carrying on his good work and working with our highly-committed officers and police staff in Fermanagh and Omagh to deliver a high-quality service that is visible, accessible, responsive and community-focused.”
