A woman who assaulted two police officers, including kicking one in the testicles has had a guilty plea entered on her behalf.

A guilty plea for assault on two police officers, disorderly behaviour, failing to provide a specimen and driving while unfit was entered on Monday's (March 7) sitting of Enniskillen Magistrates Court on behalf of defendant, Catriona Slevin.

Solicitor Tommy Owens was instructed by his client, Catriona Slevin to enter the plea for offences that took place on January 28.

The court heard the facts of the case from a PSNI constable. The court heard how Slevin (34), Sligo Road, Enniskillen came to Police attention after attempting to enter a property which was being extinguished by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS).

The PSNI constable said: “The defendant had arrived and attempted to enter the property, and the defendant appeared to be under the influence.”

The court heard how Slevin who was in a driver’s seat of car was approached by PSNI officers and asked on “numerous occasions to take a preliminary breath test".

At 3.10am, Slevin was arrested and cautioned, the constable noted that Slevin “shouted and swore” as she was placed in the rear of the Police vehicle.

While in the police vehicle, Slevin “struck” a Police Constable and kicked a separate Police Constable in the testicles before escaping onto Mill Street, Irvinestown, the court was told.

Her solicitor, Tommy Owens informed District Judge Steven Keown that he had been instructed by his client to enter a guilty plea, the matter will be before the court again on March 21.
