Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of an assault in the Main Street area of Ballinamallard.

A police spokesperson said: “At around midday today, Thursday, March 10 it was reported that a male in his 30s had been assaulted with a pole.

“It’s believed that the incident took place between [Wednesday, March 9 and Thursday, March 10].

"Officers attended the scene together with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“The male victim was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

“Two females and a male were seen in the area at the time of the incident. The male was described as being in his 20s, and wearing a maroon coloured polo top which had blood on it. He had his hair shaved at both the sides and worn long on top. 

“One of the females was described as being dressed in a carer’s uniform. The second female was described as being aged 40 – 50, with blonde hair, and was wearing a dressing gown with stars on it and pink leggings.

“Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who has any information which could assist, to contact police on 101, and quote reference number 702 of 10/03/22.”
