A man who was drink-driving with no lights on his car at 4am has been disqualified from driving.
Police observed the car on the Wellington Road on January 30 at 4.20am.
Conor Michael Wheeler (20), with an address of Newtown Road, Derrygonnelly, was driving the Vauxhall Corsa when spotted by police leaving a car park on the Wellington Road.
Officers signalled for him to stop, and when they spoke with Wheeler they detected a smell of alcohol.
He failed a preliminary breath test before giving an evidential reading of 56mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Wheeler's solicitor, Gary Black, told the court that when his client left home that evening, he had no intention of drinking but that changed.
He had made alternative arrangements to get home but realised he had parked in a Pay and Display car park and was moving to a free car park when stopped.
Mr. Black said his client co-operated fully with police at the time, and as a student the loss of his licence will have an impact as he drives up and down to university.
Describing it as a "very unfortunate incident", District Judge Steven Keown banned Wheeler from driving for 12 months, and fined him £200.
