A man has been given penalty points after being convicted of permitting no insurance.

On February 6, an off-duty police officer travelling on the Killadeas Road at 6.40am noticed a vehicle at the side of the road.

They turned their car to go and check, and found a Ford Fiesta with its engine running and a male lying in the driver's seat.

The officer identified himself as police, and the driver said he had been given permission to drive the car by the owner.

Police located the owner, Kyle Malone (20), with an address of Enniskillen Road, Lisbellaw, and he was cautioned for permitting no insurance.

Malone admitted he had given the other male permission to drive his car.

Deputy District John Connolly handed Malone six penalty points
