A man found in possession of cocaine and cannabis was warned that any further offending will not be dealt with by way of a monetary penalty.

District Judge Steven Keown fined the man a total of £550 for one count of possession of a Class-A drug, and two counts of possession of a Class-B drug.

The charges relate to an incident on March 19 and 20.

At around 11.15pm, police at Trasna Way, Lisnaskea observed a male – Jonathan Mallably (22), of Nutfield Road, Brookeborough –make his way to a car.

He appeared to be under the influence.

Police spoke to Mallaby and began to search him under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Mallaby voluntarily handed over a bag that contained cocaine and cannabis and was subsequently arrested.

A follow-up search of his home led to the discovery of 18g of cannabis, worth £180.
Mallaby made full admissions to police and told them the cocaine was bought as part of a syndicate online.

Mallaby’s solicitor, Michael Fahy, told the court his client had no criminal record.

Giving him credit for no previous record and early plea, Judge Keown handed down the fines, along with the warning to Mallaby.
