The following account of incidents in the Trillick district is taken from the Dublin Herald, a Sinn Féin newspaper, will some one let us know the why and wherefore of these outrages.

Thomas John Gallagher (22), son of Edward Gallagher, farmer was dragged from his father's house at two o'clock on Sunday morning by dozens of armed and masked 'Specials' and has not been found since. Foul play is dreaded.

In a message sent by mail, the same correspondent states that in the Trillick district Catholics are being daily subjected to cruel maltreatment at the hands of 'B Specials'. Many had been notified to leave their homes, and on failing to comply their houses were raided by 'B' men who mercilessly assaulted them.

A number have been forced to leave their homes, some having crossed over the border into the Free State and others went to Scotland.

Patrick Creggan, Kilskeery, was taken out of his house. A bag was tied around his head, he was thrown against the road and kicked several times, sustaining severe injuries. He appealed to his assailants to give him some reason for their conduct, and was told that he had received three days' notice to clear out, and did not act on it.

The man left next morning for Glasgow, and his wife and young family are leaving next week.

'B' men raided the house of J. Rodgers, a labourer, at Bundoran Junction, and pulled the man and his son out, and having kicked them badly, beat them with the butts of rifles and ordered them to leave the Six-County area at once. Both have left.

Several Catholics attending the fair in Trillick were openly attacked by 'B' men in the street. Opposite the police barrack and in presence of the police, a Catholic named McCarney was knocked down and kicked by a 'B' man.
