A woman who was found in possession of cannabis has been issued a fine.

It was heard at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday that police attended the home of Laura McDonagh (30), of Brownhill Meadows, Irvinestown, on April 20, with a warrant to search the house.

During the search, a small amount of suspected cannabis was found in a grinder.

McDonagh made full admissions to the possession.

Her solicitor, Tommy Owens, said McDonagh apologised for her behaviour and had instructed him she no longer takes cannabis, but had instead adapted a gym routine in its place.

He said it was a "minuscule amount" that was discovered, and McDonagh had no relevant criminal record.

Mr. Owens emphasised that McDonagh had addressed her problem and was no longer taking the Class-B drug.

Deputy District Judge John Rea fined McDonagh £150 for possession of a Class-B drug, commenting that the gym was more healthy than cannabis.
