A man facing 44 charges, including some relating to indecent images of children and extreme pornographic images, has had his case transferred to the Crown Court.

At a short hearing at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, Michael Connolly (26), with an address of Main Street, Fivemiletown, appeared.

Connolly is facing 14 counts of possessing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children, eight counts of possession of a prohibited image of a child, five charges of possession of an extreme pornographic image, 15 charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children, and single charges of distributing indecent photos of a child, and voyeurism.

The charges related to incidents on dates between January 1, 2015 and August 20, 2020.

A prosecution representative told the court the defendant had a case to answer on the papers before the court. District Judge Steven Keown was satisfied this was the case.

Connolly only spoke to say he did not object to the holding of a preliminary enquiry, and that he did not wish to say anything, give evidence, call witnesses or tender statements during the hearing.

He was released on bail to appear again at Dungannon Crown Court on September 27.
