Cross community

Organising Committee member, Colm McCreesh commented: “It was a great day, despite the rain but thankfully Fermanagh escaped the yellow weather warning so it did not stop us.

“The cycle is a great cross community event and the numbers who participated showed that there is still an appetite for the event. I’m sure the weather cost us some cyclists, especially on the day, but overall it was a successful event and you can’t control the weather.”

Colm added that thankfully everybody seemed to get around safely and he was quick to thank all the volunteers without whom it would have been impossible to stage the cycle.

“All the volunteers were brilliant and you could not stage the Tour of Fermanagh without them.

“Brian Armitage and Eamon Shannon organised all the marshals and volunteers. Barry Smith and The Mad Dog Motorcycle Club, yet again, were superb motorcycle outrider marshals especially through Enniskillen. Elaine Stinson, Action Mental Health did a lot of work, Brenda McCabe on registrations, Barry King, John McElwaine, everyone played a part in making the day a success.”
