Concerned citizens will gather on Saturday afternoon in Enniskillen to call for justice for Noah Donohoe, but organisers have expressed disappointment that only five councillors from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council have indicated they will attend.

The rally will be held this Saturday, September 17, at 3pm at The Diamond in Enniskillen and will call for justice for Noah.

Young Noah (14) died in unknown circumstances in June, 2020. He was found dead, naked in a storm drain in north Belfast, six days after he went missing.

The rally in Enniskillen was sparked following thousands of people attending a rally in solidarity with the Donohoe family in Belfast last month, including groups of Fermanagh people.

Speaking ahead of the rally, one of the local organisers, Martina McDermott, said: “Through the MyNoahDonohoe Facebook Page, 100 to 200 people have indicated they are hoping to attend.

“I have invited all of the Fermanagh and Omagh District Councillors to attend and to speak, and five have indicated they will come.”

Those who have listed their intentions to attend the rally include the Council Chair, Councillor Barry McElduff, Sinn Féin; Councillor John Coyle, SDLP; Councillor Adam Gannon, SDLP; Councillor Dónal O’Cofaigh, Independent; and Councillor Eamonn Keenan, Independent.

Martina is appealing for as many people as possible to attend the rally.

She added: “I am disappointed that some people are making this out as ‘an orange and green thing’ – it is not, it is about justice for Noah.”

She emphasised: “Every single mother, father, sister, or brother should take this on as a fight for Noah for justice.”

Attendees are encouraged to wear blue and white, where possible, and if carrying any posters to include a blue heart. It is estimated that the protest rally will last no longer than an hour.
