AWARE NI will be holding its ‘brightest event of the year’ in Lisnaskea later this month with their first ever Colour Run.

The depression charity for Northern Ireland are inviting local people to take on the untimed route at the Share Discovery Village on Saturday, October 8. The family friendly fun run will start at 10am and feature regular paint stations along the 5K course.

Margaret McCrossan, Community Fundraising Officer at AWARE NI, said: “We’re so excited to host our first ever Colour Run this October in Lisnaskea! Bring along your kids, friends and family to get colourful for a great cause! You can walk, skip, dance or run your way around the course as we fill the air with clouds of brightly coloured powder. This is such a fantastic way to support local mental health services, whilst also having so much fun!”

All funds raised will go towards supporting those living with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder across Northern Ireland through AWARE NI’s services. AWARE's free-to-attend Support Groups provide a safe space to meet with others on a similar journey who can understand, encourage and suggest helpful coping methods. AWARE also deliver information outreach sessions and mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities, and workplaces to raise awareness of depression whilst equipping people with the tools they need to best look after their minds.

Online registration for the event is now open, register your place now at www.aware-ni.org/colourrun. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
